Step 2: Finding A Forex Broker To Fill Your Needs.
Before you can even begin to trade you'll need to find a forex broker, now this shouldn't be a problem, since there are more out there than you can shake a stick at. This has it's positives, and negatives, the positive is it will make getting an account setup very easy and painless, the negative is there are lots of fly-by-night brokers out there.
You need to decide if want a forex broker with a downloadable platform or a web-based platform.
First off, let us talk about a downloadable platform. It is a software application you download to your computer that allows you to place orders right from the software itself. Common Software platforms are MetaTrader 4 (MT4), and Virtual Trader (VT 2.0). With these you download the software, install it to your home computer, fill in you account information, and away you go.
Now, a Web-based trading platform is only different in that you go to your brokers website, sign in, and now your ready to start trading. We prefer the web-based, because if you ever have a problem with your computer, like a crash or virus, all you have to do is login to your account from any computer and you'll be back to trading without skipping a beat.
